2.0 star star star_border star_border star_borderFirst the positives - Dr. Malde has great bedside manner. She is warm, down to earth, and takes the time to listen to her patients and answer any questions. She made me feel very cared for during my initial visit and allergy testing. I love her sense of humor and helpful suggestions for managing my allergies. Now for the constructive feedback - this may have more to do with the system of NM and managed care in general, but Dr. Malde is often over-scheduled and juggling multiple patients at once to the point of interrupting my appointments to talk to a MA about another patient and/or making me have to wait for long stretches before she can get to me (20+ minutes). There seems to be a lack of communication from Dr. Malde to her MA staff as they regularly seem out of the loop about what is going on. Dr. Malde has seemed rushed, flustered, and distracted to me at times. Once she even took a personal phone call (that didn’t seem urgent) right as we were beginning our appointment. I know doctors are busy and the US healthcare system is a shitshow but my interactions with NM Allergy have been disappointing at best and of poor quality at worst. It has made me question the NM reputation and I am seriously considering transferring my care and taking my business elsewhere.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Malde was so knowledgeable and so patient, she really took her time and asked thorough questions to get a better understanding of my needs. She was very attentive and kind with me and explained everything to me. I felt so comfortable around her and know that she really cares about her patients!

5.0 star star star star starDr. Malde is great, always so thoughtful and attentive. And she got me in quickly with a specialist referral to figure out what was going on with my throat (which turned out to be very important since there was a serious issue that couldn’t be seen without specialty equipment).

5.0 star star star star starFor all of the same reasons as indicated above. In addition, she was personable. She was Not glued to just looking at the the monitor, she understood that She was talking to an individual, so while doing her medical intake she remained fully engaged with me - the patient.

5.0 star star star star starWe had moved from Texas where almost everyone was allergic, mostly to cedar. After a few years of coughing and sinus problems in Chicago, I scheduled an appointment at NM Allergy. After testing and talking, Dr. Malde was able to diagnose the problem accurately and I didn't need shots. She is knowledgeable, upbeat and a pleasure to work with.

5.0 star star star star starNot only is she so kind and takes all the time that is needed. She goes out of her way for her patients. When I had COVID, not only did her nurse call me, she called me as well. Was on the phone with me for about 30 minutes. Made sure I had an action plan should I get sicker, but gave me things to do to get better faster! Don’t know if I would have recovered as well without her help!

5.0 star star star star starI loved Dr. Malde! She was on time for the appointment and I didn’t wait at all. She was very friendly and helpful. You could tell she really takes time and cares for her patients. I also loved my nurse Dawn! She was such a sweetheart and talked me through every step and just made the overall visit a great experience! They are an amazing team and being a former employee of Northwestern Medicine and continuous patient, they deserve the be acknowledged for their patient care and overall kindness!

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderDr. Malde is very personable however she goes way too fast. She skipped over about a dozen medical history questions, assuming they weren’t relevant to me, but they were. She also speaks at a mile a minute and runs through things so quickly then leaves that by the time you catch up to what she said, she is gone. Did not feel confident in her care.

5.0 star star star star starI would recommend Dr Malde personally for care but not through the NW system. As I mentioned above, I think Dr Malde is a great physician , I just don’t appreciate that NW doesn’t respect my time and thinks nothing of it when my noon appointment doesn’t start until 1:20 but if someone I knew were in search of an allergist I would recommend Dr. Malde with the caveat that they need to block out half a day of work for appointments.
