5.0 star star star star starDr Bethke is a well know breast cancer surgeon. Based on his level of expertise. After meeting him I knew I was in good hands. I left with an organized plan and understanding on how to deal with my breast cancer journey.

5.0 star star star star starDr Bethke was extremely respectful towards me knowing when showing my muscle structure of my upper body before examining me. He appreciated me showing this as I have been lifting free weights since I've been 38 focusing on my upper chest and I just worked out the day before. After the mammogram, I told him that I had seem the ex-rays of my breast's muscles and that there were no lumps. Yeah! :) And where the surgery was preformed effecting the muscle on the outer portion of my breast and where the surgery was it was not as strong structurally, of course. The technician said he did a good job. That's all good having this knowledge, I know my body. Dr. Bethke took his time confirming this and at length went over and beyond looking at my ankle where I thought possibility that a clot had returned. He a very caring doctor and extremely talented. I highly recommend him. I like Dr. Bethke, so glad I found him!

5.0 star star star star starDr Bethke is the best. He explains the different scenarios of what may happen. Talks about the courses of treatment possible and is careful I know when and what departments I should make appointments. He is kind too.

5.0 star star star star starHe took the time to explain everything and how to proceed from there. He advised me on time line. I will be away for 7 days and that will not interfere with future appointments if I need them. That was very helpful.

5.0 star star star star starI felt completely comfortable and confident in his hands. I’ve nothing to compare it against because this is probably a one-time event, from what I read of his background and experienced with him at appointments, I felt I was receiving the best care possible.

5.0 star star star star starSo far, I really like Dr. Bethke to the point that I’m switching over from EEHealth to NW medicine for my surgery. But…if every time I call in for anything I need to be on hold just to speak with someone for over 20 minutes, that is quite frustrating and completely opposite of the experience with Edward Elmhurst health.

5.0 star star star star starVery professional and detailed. Kind and let’s you know what is going on. He listens to what I have to say or questions I ask without acting as he has one foot out the door. He is patient and thorough. I had him 20 years ago as well.

5.0 star star star star starHe made me feel confident about the diagnosis, the next steps, and answered all my questions. He also didn’t make me feel like I had to choose him or the other Dr. Instead he cares about me having to drive a far distance and said he would still monitor my condition and progress.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
