5.0 star star star star starShauna is a Kind and gentle Nurse Practitioner, who was thorough and friendly. She explained the visit, process and what to expect for next steps. She provided me ease during what can be experienced as an uncomfortable procedure and made it more comfortable for me.

5.0 star star star star starShauna was fantastic! I was a bit apprehensive about the SIS due to a past unpleasant experience (not at Northwestern), but she was incredibly caring and gentle. The procedure was quick and painless.

5.0 star star star star starI cannot say enough good things about Shauna. She was very down to earth, easy to talk to and answered all our questions. After suffering multiple miscarriages Shauna put me at ease and gave some helpful tip on how to stay calm during my current pregnancy. Would highly recommend!

5.0 star star star star starI went in for an SIS. Although the procedure was very painful, Nurse Acosta did her best to make me feel secure in her care. She was incredibly empathetic, kind, and explained everything that was happening. Although I had an adverse reaction to the procedure, Nurse Acosta stayed with me until the pain subsided and made every effort to ensure I was ok. Nurse Acosta was exceptional and is likely one of the reasons that care at Northwestern is so highly regarded. Thank you, Nurse Acosta, for taking care of me on a very rough day.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
