Symptoms of Hyperopia

Hyperopia often develops gradually, so it’s important to get regular eye exams to avoid prolonged symptoms of hyperopia. Those symptoms include:

  • Blurry vision when trying to see items up close
  • Eyestrain and burning eyes
  • Headaches after close work, such as reading, sewing or working on the computer

Children with hyperopia may experience:

  • Crossed eyes
  • Squinting
  • Rubbing of eyes
  • Difficulty learning to read
