Symptoms of Fibromuscular Dysplasia

Whether or not you have symptoms from fibromuscular dysplasia depends on the amount of damage to your arteries. This damage is different depending on the artery affected and may include:


Carotid arteries

  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Neck pain
  • Transient ischemic attack (TIA)
  • Stroke

Kidney (renal) arteries

  • High blood pressure
  • Kidney failure
  • Abnormal kidney function
  • Atrophy (shrinkage) of kidneys
