Symptoms of Esophageal Varices
There may be no symptoms of esophageal varices until they rupture. Seek medical attention immediately if you have these symptoms:
- Black, tarry or bloody stools
- Bloody vomit
- Fainting or feeling lightheaded from blood loss
- Symptoms of liver disease, including:
- Jaundice (yellow skin and eyes)
- Frequent bruising or bleeding
- Abdominal fluid buildup
