Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Patients with Non-Metastatic Extracranial Ewing Sarcoma

Study: This randomized phase III trial studies combination chemotherapy to see how well it works compared to combination chemotherapy with topotecan hydrochloride in treating patients with non-metastatic extracranial Ewing sarcoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as vincristine sulfate, doxorubicin hydrochloride, cyclophosphamide, ifosfamide, etoposide, and topotecan hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known whether combination chemotherapy is more effective with topotecan hydrochloride in treating Ewing sarcoma.

Risk-Adapted Chemotherapy in Treating Younger Patients with Newly Diagnosed Standard-Risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia or Localized B-Lineage Lymphoblastic Lymphoma

Study: This partially randomized phase III clinical trial is studying different combinations of risk-adapted chemotherapy regimens and their side effects and comparing how well they work in treating younger patients with newly diagnosed standard-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy), giving the drugs in different doses, and giving the drugs in different combinations may kill more cancer cells.
Clinical Trial #: NCT01190930
Principal Investigator: Elaine Morgan, MD2

Risk-Based Classification System of Patients with Newly Diagnosed Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Study: This research trial studies a risk-based classification system for patients with newly diagnosed acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Gathering health information about patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia may help doctors learn more about the disease and plan the best treatment.
Clinical Trial #: NCT01142427
Principal Investigator: Elaine Morgan, MD2

Biomarkers in Tumor Tissue Samples from Patients with Newly Diagnosed Neuroblastoma or Ganglioneuroblastoma

Study: This research trial studies biomarkers in tumor tissue samples from patients with newly diagnosed neuroblastoma or ganglioneuroblastoma. Studying samples of tumor tissue from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors identify and learn more about biomarkers related to cancer.
Clinical Trial #: NCT00904241
Principal Investigator: Yasmin Gosiengfiao, MD2

Sensory Processing and Constipation

Study: Investigating the relationship of sensory processing disorder to constipation in children age 3 to 5 years.
Principal Investigator: Mark Fishbein, MD2
Contact: Andrea Childers, RN, 630.933.2192. TTY 711. M.Andrea.Childers@nm.org.

Outcomes in Feeding Clinic

Study: Investigating outcomes and patient satisfaction for young children attending the feeding clinic.
Principal Investigator: Mark Fishbein, MD2
Contact: Andrea Childers, RN, 630.933.2192. TTY 711. M.Andrea.Childers@nm.org.

Study of Kidney Tumors in Younger Patients

Study: This laboratory study is looking at kidney tumors in young patients. Collecting and storing samples of tumor tissue, blood, and urine from patients with cancer to study in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about changes that occur in deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and identify biomarkers related to cancer. It may also help the study of cancer in the future.
Clinical Trial #: NCT00898365
Principal Investigator: Yasmin Gosiengfiao, MD2
