Overview
Since 1985, patients in the Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital inpatient rehabilitation unit have received exceptional rehabilitative care. Physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians are supported by a comprehensive team of rehabilitation nurses, therapists and other medical professionals. Together, they help patients and their families heal after an injury or illness.
On this unit, you have access to the level of rehabilitation care needed to help you achieve your goals. The 22-bed unit and therapy gym are located on the same floor within the hospital. This allows easy access to treatment throughout the day. You also have access to all hospital-based services as needed, including medical imaging, laboratory, on-site pharmacy and more.
Patients who may benefit from our inpatient rehabilitation services include those with a diagnosis of:
- Brain injury
- Stroke
- Orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions, such as fractures, amputation or multiple traumas
- Neuromuscular disorders and neurological conditions, such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis or Guillain-Barré syndrome
- Spinal Cord Injury
Admission into the unit is determined by your ability and willingness to participate in three hours of therapy per day, five to seven days a week. It also depends on insurance authorization, diagnosis and bed availability.
For more information, please contact our Admissions Department at 815.206.3426.
If you do not have a referral, you can complete a form to request care at the Woodstock Inpatient Rehabilitation Program. This will authorize a Woodstock admission referral liaison or physician to follow up with you to determine the most appropriate level of care.
