2.0 star star star_border star_border star_borderI came for an acupuncture appointment, not a nutritionist visit. She spent nearly the entire consultation telling me to half the amount of food I eat regardless of how active I am, which is not sound advice. For example, I said I only had a cup of coffee with 2T oat milk creamer for breakfast for 35 calories. She said I should cut back to 1T of creamer for 17 calories. How will a mere 17 calories have an impact on weight loss?! And why is an acupuncture therapist advising me on food instead of the procedure I’m about to have? It was my first ever acupuncture appointment and I’m disappointed that I learned nothing on how it works, whether it can be effective in boosting metabolism after menopause for weight management, why she put the pins where she did and what I could expect after the procedure. I’m hopeful the procedure itself has some benefits but I would like a therapist to provide information and guidance.

5.0 star star star star starVery likely. I had lost touch with her and was happy to find she was here when I had health concerns. She is a good listener, no-nonsense, and helps you understand and think about what’s going on with your body and mind.

2.0 star star star_border star_border star_borderVery disappointed being my first acupuncture visit. Provider did not introduce herself, did not provide any guidance or education on what to expect or how this could benefit me. Came off as cold.

5.0 star star star star starFang Lin is a very thoughtful, careful and experienced caregiver. She takes the time to understand what needs to be addressed not only by talking with you but also by reviewing medical records and history to have a comprehensive knowledge of one's care needs. I highly recommend her!

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
