5.0 star star star star starThe dr. communicated clearly, and was highly professional. I felt very comfortable with him in charge of my care. Smart, with an excellent patient care approach. He is a great asset to Northwestern Urgent Care, in my opinion.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Carlino was considerate, knowledgeable, and both answered questions and volunteered clarification of information he shared. He readily explained all that he was checking for and why. He made a special effort to get me access to a CT brain scan (STAT) at NM Lake Forest. He made a direct contact with NM LF Radiology, gave me instructions about how to enter the hospital through the ER, but NOT to register, because all that was necessary was for the ER to contact Radiology, so that someone could meet me and take me to Radiology. Once I was connected with Radiology at NM LF, Jen, the radiologist (?), said that the Radiology department was awaiting my arrival, because Dr. Carlino had made the arrangements so carefully. Later, after the CT Scan was complete, and I was on the way home to Evanston, Dr. Carlino called me on my cell phone with the report - and further assurances and advice. I could not have wished for better attention, care, and genuine caring.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Carlino spent a lot of time with me, figuring out that I had bronchitis and not covid or flu. He sent me for chest x-ray after hearing breath sounds that made him suspect pneumonia. I felt very heard, understood and cared for during our appointment.

4.0 star star star star star_borderHe seemed like he was trying to be thorough & that matters a lot when you are as sick as I've been. He paid attn to what I said & seemed to try to do his best. He was also very NICE & that helps too. There was a bit of confusion with the scripts written, but I can say this doctor has a better bedside manner than most!! That counts!

5.0 star star star star starDr Carlino was responsive to my needs and explained what the tests showed. He prescribed an antibiotic and explained why he chose this specific one, how I should take it and what I should do if my condition worsened. I was confident that I received excellent care.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
