5.0 star star star star starThere is not enough space to list, JUST the reasons I can remember, for why I give the HIGHEST marks to Dr. Shawn Brickner. The fact that she has professionally CARED FOR ME FOR SEVERAL YEARS should give a lot of weight to my reasonable (POSITIVE) opinion of her skills and talents. However, for the sake of the survey question, the LATEST reason for keeping my primary care physician at "THE HEAD OF THE CLASS" and many years since graduation, is offered after requesting HER advice through MyChart: Because I had a scratchy throat and a quickly developing cough, I asked about an over the counter medication. Well, after a battery of questions with which I had to answer, I soon had my recommended item to pick up, however, with another, directive Dr. Brickner wanted me to follow: And that was to get a COVED-19 TEST. In fact, several locations were included in the message reply. As it turns out, ladies and gentlemen that organize these survey questions, my lab report came back POSITIVE for COVID-19 !!! What more do I REALLY NEED TO SAY.... Dr. Brickner done did it, YET, again.... cause, SHE WAS ON HER very professional J-O-B !!! "Thank you Dr. Brickner." {patient's full name] One of her long term patients (Permission to POST AND PUBLISH WITH OR WITHOUT MY NAME IS GRANTED...[patient's full name])

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
