5.0 star star star star starDr Merk is exceptional. He is contentious, he is diligent. I believe, after a very serious injury, no one could have performed the survey as well as he and his team, supporting staff. I am humbled and grateful for the exceptional care I received before, during, and after surgery. It has been a long road but without their expertise and TRULY amazing staff, I don't know what I would have been through the last 4 months...or in the years ahead. BONUS: The office is always on time or ahead of schedule!

5.0 star star star star starDr. Merk is extremely highly qualified. He is friendly, helpful, and extraordinarily thorough in his treatment of me. He involves me when he assesses my progress, and provides me understandable explanations of the progress, providing me quick fixes of things I can do to address immediate problems I might be experiencing. He welcomes any questions I might have or if I need clarification he goes out of his way to help me understand, as my treatment develops. He provides me information that he receives in any follow up tests I have, helping me to understand how this information impacts my progress. Dr. Merk is very detailed so I clearly understand what I need to do to support my progress and healing. I am completely confident, in his medical expertise, and because of this I follow his medical plan for me diligently. It is because of him I am making significant progress. I am very thankful Dr. Merk is my doctor. I know I am getting the best care possible.

5.0 star star star star starMy appointment with Dr. Merk exceeded all my expectations. After meeting with Dr. Merk and his associate, Erik, I completely understood my MRI, my illness, condition that needed correcting. They helped me understand what my treatment plan is, why that plan best supports my treatment, how my treatment plan will unfold over time, and I feel I completely understand what I can do each day to heal my condition, and through that healing I am on my way back to having the ability to do the things I love. I understand the most important thing is to be patient and each day I follow my treatment plan will make me stronger. I left my appointment completely clear on how to support my treatment.

5.0 star star star star starHe has treated me on 4 different occasions and done an excellent job, and one time saved me from an unnecessary surgery for a supposed dislocated shoulder I didn’t have. I have great trust in him.

5.0 star star star star starVery patient, answered all our questions and offered suggestions for followup physical therapy. He made me feel as if I was the only patient he had to see...even though I know it's not true...lol

5.0 star star star star starDr Merk and the resident were extremely professional, kind, straightforward, and understanding to all my circumstances. I have a significant injury to my leg, and a previous provider missed a whole fracture that Dr. Merk diagnosed. Leaving the consultation, I am already relieved, hopeful, and looking forward to taking the next steps I'm restoring my health. I have full confidence in them!

5.0 star star star star starReputable, professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly humane. Was able to create rapport in no time, to easily explain how to navigate recovery, and kind enough to give more than ample time to come up with questions. Couldn't be any more satisfied.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
