5.0 star star star star starDr. Thaker is brilliant. So many times when nobody knew what was going on. Dr. Thaker would tell me I bet it’s this or I bet it’s that. For example my alkaline phosphatase number jumped tenfold from 67 to 673 and they were a lot of panicked people in the Liver department but I saw Dr. Thaker before he admitted me, and he said, I bet it’s the bile duct because with your liver we got the bile duct. I guess you guys throw those in for free he went on to say that half of my bile duct was connected to the new bile duct and he thinks the problem isn’t my liver or my kidneys it’s not my blood it’s the bile duct you said I bet that it’s congested were the two bile ducks meat so I had an ERCP, they put the tube down my throat into my esophagus and they use that like submarine telescope camera to not only check out my liberal and to take pictures but they saw the bile duct was in fact compressed right where he said it would be so the doctors put a balloon down there, inflated it and return the width of my bile duct at that point to it size at the Transplant. So he monitors the blood tests like a detective monitors a suspect. He also has one of my trust. I’ll never forget how he guided me through all the worst parts of this. He is my friend.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
