5.0 star star star star starDr. Patel listened and explained things in terms I could understand. The notes in MyChart were clear and concise. It was nice speaking with her and I feel like I am in control of my treatment with the options provided.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Patel was really great -- very personable, very warm. She was also clearly focused on me as a patient and listened to my concerns; she seemed to be in no rush (very rare these days!) and answered all my questions. I'm very happy to have been paired with Dr. Patel.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderI went to discuss hormones and get a refill of my HRT Rx. During the course of my appointment I asked about hormones potentially being the cause of my weight gain and was told "no". She offered many medications and then suggested gastric band. FYI - I have weight to lose, but am a size 10. This suggestion was absurd and insulting. She then judged my coffee intake (1 6-oz cup plus 1 Nespresso pod) with raised eyebrows and "Do you drink that much every day?". And when I asked about menopause and hormones related to libido she literally chuckled and told me "it is in your head". I would NEVER see this physician again.

5.0 star star star star starI appreciated how Dr. Patel listened to my concerns and explained the options I had. She gave me her recommendation but said if that doesn't work, we would go to plan B. She said, "I will not give up on you" and we would find a solution. I really appreciated her saying that.

2.0 star star star_border star_border star_borderShe was in a hurry to leave the room. My first visit was wonderful she read my reports and had a put a great game plan together with so many ideas for my care. When that plan failed at my second visit I felt like she was out of ideas

5.0 star star star star starGiven my age (80) and the length of time since my last visit to a gynecologist, I was very apprehensive before my appointment. I found Dr. Patel very knowledgeable, kind, patient, and very gentle. She helped me to feel comfortable right from the start of the appointment. I so appreciated the time she took to answer my questions and concerns. I felt she was treating me as a whole person, and I valued that immensely.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
