5.0 star star star star starErik helps me understand healing as a dynamic process so I am not worried any more when trouble spots occur, I understand that is a part of the healing process. I am amazed whatever problems I might encounter he explains to me what’s causing the pain and why (physiology) and then addresses it with me in that session. It is reassuring to know my physical therapy sessions address growth and progress, but also someone is there to help when trouble spots and pains occur. I tell people I never feel alone in my process of healing. My physical therapist reminds me of this in his active support of my treatment.

5.0 star star star star starErik has been my physical therapist for my initial evaluation and for my treatment over the last two weeks. During my initial evaluation he took the time to listen to my concerns and to evaluate the status of my condition. He was extremely thorough and helped me understand about levels of pain I might experience, what was the difference between soreness and discomfort that we didn’t want me to feel. That really helped me understand my pain better. He is always very intentional to make sure if he sees a weakness I am struggling with to help alleviate that weakness, which really helps my discomfort. He explains everything to me so intricate, I really understand. I feel very comfortable asking questions and I am so thankful I have a physical therapist I can trust because I can see my improvement, no matter how small it might seem, I see how I am getting stronger, and able to do things I could not do at all.

5.0 star star star star starOn a scale of 1-10, Erik Howland is an 11! He is exceptionally patient, listening, and empathetic. He explains what is happening with the muscular skeletal system extremely well - much better than the doctors or surgeons. He is by far, the best physical therapist I have ever seen.

5.0 star star star star starErik has provided an excellent treatment for me. I came to the orthopedic center with a severe pain in my lower back and left leg with a sciatica pain, it preventing me from walking straight and not able to function on my daily routines. Was difficult standing for short or long periods, not able to lift or walk normally. Today, I am feeling great and ready to take control of my normal daily activities. I am grateful for Erik’s motivation, dedication and commitment to his profession, helping his patients to achieve their goals. There is no doubt, Erik is a great asset to Northwestern hospital/orthopedic center. Note: I was not able to respond the previous feedback for Erik , due to the fact that I didn’t receive them. I called the lady who answered was not helpful at all. It’s frustrating because I wanted to give the credit that Erik well deserved for his outstanding work.

5.0 star star star star starErik is very professional even when I talk too much. He always asks where do I hurt and I’m not afraid to let him know. He offers suggestions as to what I should work on at home. I often asks him to show me the muscles that are affected by my tear. He knows his stuff. Erik is a gentleman and a kind man. I am very comfortable around him. Glad I was assigned to him.

In just a few months, I've improved so much. The nerve pain is getting under control, and my core is getting strong. He's the best therapist I've ever had, and I've had several!
