5.0 star star star star starFrom the very beginning she was amazing. She was patient with and explained any questions or concerns I had. She was very kind. She also gave me so much more information than all my previous doctors did at the VNA.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderDr. Velez has terrible bedside manner. She was unable to answer our questions and could not elaborate on her explanations. Not the doctor you want delivering your baby as I did not feel confident in her knowledge.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Velez was very patient and understanding of how scared I was to have a particular procedure this morning. She explained each step of what she was doing along the way and what to expect in terms of recovery.

5.0 star star star star starI’ve seen Dr. Velez the most throughout my pregnancy even though she’s not my original OB/GYN. She’s really really great! I hope she’s there the day I deliver because she has such a calming demeanor and makes me feel less anxious as this is my first pregnancy. She always takes time to answer my questions and never makes me feel rushed.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderI looked for a doctor who spoke Spanish and I was referred to this doctor, but she refused to speak in Spanish and had extreme lack of empathy with the patient! Very bad doctor-patient relationship!

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderIt was first time I had stitches in this kind of procedure. I had like this surgery 6 times before. Second how the doctor decided to do the other side without my permission? It wasn’t any cyst and no pain on the other side.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Velez was professional, easy to discuss concerns and questions with and thorough with her answers and suggestions for me. I felt as if she had my best interest at heart and never lectured or scolded but offered valuable insight & guidance for my continued care & well being in the future.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
