4.0 star star star star star_borderDr. Montpetit in particular was both very kind and a thorough professional, despite the fact that I was clearly off my game in terms of my medication particulars. She was extremely patient and good, and I apologize for not having done my homework so he job would be easier. I intend to do better, going forward

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderI think Dr. Montpetit is very smart. My concerns were twofold. On both visits, it strongly appeared that she was looking at my charts for the first time as she came into the office and figuring it out while we were talking. Secondly, I had said on both visits that I didn't want to run tests out of any abundance of caution as I felt fine and was really not worried. I also really didn't want to spend many thousands of insurance dollars on a very low risk issue. However she went ahead and ordered numerous expensive tests. My main issue was that I felt she neither acknowledged my concern at all nor took the time to explain clearly what the reasoning for the test was. It almost seemed that she scoffed at my concern about the costs to the system. Lastly, her entire explanation of my condition seemed rushed and on the fly. This is not to say the tests weren't valid, it is to indicate that she did not present reasoning I could follow or an explanation of my situation that I could follow.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
