5.0 star star star star starDr. Lukas' sole focus is brain cancer, and he is clearly familiar with all the available treatments. He explains the various treatment options clearly and also gives me his recommendations. He presented my case to the tumor board, which recommended a [procedure], something my doctors in South Bend had not mentioned. I feel very lucky to be so close to such a first-rate facility.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Lukas is brilliant which you want in a physician, but he also seems considerate. Here are two small things that indicated that. When he entered the room with his two medical students and saw that the chairs in the room were both occupied, he slid his exam chair over to one of the students so they could sit down, and he sat on the counter. Thoughtful. Plus, he seemed to take extra time with us since he knew we came all the way from Michigan. Both these small things impressed my daughter and me.

5.0 star star star star starWe appreciate that Dr Lukas confers with his colleagues for [Patient's name] treatment. We appreciate the effort Dr Lukas made to get a new pacemaker for [Patient] so that [Patient] can have MRI's. We appreciate that Dr Lukas is willing to work with Dan's oncologist here in Fort Wayne for the admnistration of medication.

5.0 star star star star starHe was prepared for the call, and you could tell he had reviewed [name]'s file. He was very patient as we figured out how to conference in a couple of other family members on the call and told us a couple of times, "take all the time you need". He didn't seem in a rush to get off the call, but carefully answered all our questions. He seemed very on top of things and had already followed through this morning by contacting the radiology department in St. Joseph like he said he would. So, preparation, good bedside manner, quick follow-through and knowledge of the disease [name] has made us very confident in him.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
