5.0 star star star star starHe actually listens and truly cares for his patients. I have never had an experience as amazing as my appointment with him today with any other doctor prior. I was completely comfortable with him. 10/10!

5.0 star star star star starDr Matheu was informative and supportive. He provided useful suggestions, he listened, and he answered my questions. I was impressed with the fact that he was obviously familiar with my situation, in spite of the fact that I had not previously seen him. Thank you, Dr Matheu.

5.0 star star star star starHe’s always personable. Friendly. Willing to have quality unrushed conversations. He works as a collaborative part of a team and treats patients as valuable parts of that team. He’s the bomb. Tell him I said so . Honorable mentions: phlebotomist Mary.[ ] was amazing! Her personality and her comforting presentation. I was trying to use my blood draw as an opportunity to circle around human body sciences my kids are learning. She noticed what I was trying to do and began engaging them in a fun, developmentally appropriate way. I asked if she had taught students. She said she used to work in pediatrics. Of course! What an Angel. Please make sure she hears this. I’ll ask her next time I see her ;)

5.0 star star star star starDr Matheu has always taken his time to hear me out regarding my concerns and my health. At no time has he hurried through and appointment. I greatly appreciate that in my doctors. Please let him know how much I appreciate his help and guidance. [Patient's name]

5.0 star star star star starI appreciate James’ positive and friendly demeanor, “bedside†manner, listening skills, attention to detail, and fair conversation for solutions with the patient. He’s also got a great handshake and knows how to make a person feel heard and as if they matter. I’ve never felt rushed with him. He’s concise and thorough and I appreciate how he’s willing to consider the holistic person not just the localized symtom.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
