5.0 star star star star starHe is friendly and takes the time to explain everything in terms I understand. The only negative is it can be difficult to get an appointment with him on short notice, but that’s probably because he is in high demand.

5.0 star star star star starVery professional and approachable. He seemed eager to understand my perspective of what I was experiencing at the moment, so that was a very good way of building trust and have a productive conversation.

5.0 star star star star starAs a former patient with Advocate Health..I had the same physician for 25 years. I was skeptical about seeing a new doctor. Dr. Chmielewski was very professional, kind, helpful and knowledgeable. His presence was very positive and uplifting. I’m definitely going to remain and revisit Dr. Chmielewski as my primary physician.

5.0 star star star star starDr Joe is laid back and easy to talk to. I know that he listens to me and I always leave feeling like my health & wellbeing is a team effort (I’ve seen other doctors where I’ve felt rushed and nearly like a burden when asking questions). Even when the office is packed, he takes time to explain things & ask questions to make sure I understand.

5.0 star star star star starDr Joe listened to my concerns and was extremely sympathetic. Dr [last name] is my original doctor who I am not going back to. I was originally told one thing by her. It took two years and Dr Joe to confirm what I suspected all along. He took my blood work which MY doctor hadn’t done in TWO years! I’m so grateful that I was paired with him!

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
