3.0 star star star star_border star_borderShe's wonderful. But she is no ot taking new patients. And whereas I used to see her every 3 months she is so busy now I need to wait 5 months between visits. This is not ideal when I am trying to manage my diabetes and and changing medications.

5.0 star star star star starAlways answers any questions or concerns with clear answers and without judgement and never rushes thru the appt. Dr Karas is so knowledgeable and truly caring that I would pay out of pocket to see her if I needed to !!! She is the very best.

5.0 star star star star starThis was the first time I’ve ever had a doctor ask me to tell me ‘my story’ and encouraged me to talk while they actually listened to what I was saying. She was thorough and actually appeared to care about what I needed.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Karas is very thorough and she listens to the changes that occur between visits that may be affecting my diabetes. She reviews the meter readings and makes suggestions to adjust my insulin and other care. Also, she is very encouraging when things aren't going as well with my numbers - she provides support to keep me trying for next time.

2.0 star star star_border star_border star_borderDoctor seemed to think I was wasting their time. Said that if labs came back normal there was nothing else that could be done for me. I do not feel well even though the labs come back within the normal range. Did not ask me to schedule a follow up appointment on my way out the door. And I don't see that I had tests done for the medication I am taking. Do I need to keep taking it? How will I know????

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
