Northwestern Medicine Rehabilitation Services offers Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT®) programs for those with Parkinson's disease.

LSVT programs are based on research to treat common symptoms of Parkinson's disease. The programs can be customized to meet the unique goals of each patient. Northwestern Medicine Rehabilitation Services has specially trained clinicians certified to offer LSVT programs.

LSVT LOUD

This program focuses on communication skills. You may benefit from an improvement in:

• Vocal loudness
• Articulation and speech intelligibility
• Intonation
• Facial expression

LSVT BIG

This program focuses on motor skills. You may benefit from an improvement in:

• Walking speed with bigger steps
• Balance
• Trunk rotation
• Ability to complete activities of daily living, such as getting in and out of bed
