Curettage is a minimally invasive treatment for skin cancer and other lesions in which a curette, a spoon-shaped tool with a sharp edge, is used to scrape off the lesion. Curettage is often followed by electrodessication, which treats the affected area with electricity to stop bleeding and kill any remaining cancer cells.
