What to Expect at Your Visit

Bring your home device to your first visit, or you can give our staff access to your device. We will evaluate your device at your visit.

Our team members will perform some or all of these tests during your visit:

  • Spirometry: Measures how much air you can breathe out forcefully and how fast you can do it.
  • Diaphragm ultrasound: Helps your care team check your diaphragm and how well it works.
  • Six-minute walk: Your care team will check the amount of oxygen is in your blood before and after the walk.
  • Arterial blood gas test: Checks the oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in your blood and measures your blood's acidity. This test helps your physician decide if you need oxygen therapy.

We offer many devices to help you breathe, including:

  • Home mechanical ventilators
  • Respiratory assist devices
  • High flow devices
  • Life 2000
  • Airway clearance devices:
    • Mechanical insuffilation/exsufflation
    • High-frequency chest wall oscillation (vest therapy)
    • Oscillating lung expansion
    • Nebulizers
    • Intermittent positive pressure breathing (IPPB)
