Spasticity may be caused by damage to the nerve pathways regulating muscles. It is a common complication of:

• Cerebral palsy
• Brain injuries
• Spinal cord injuries
• Multiple sclerosis
• Stroke

Diagnoses

Your physician will complete a detailed physical examination to determine:

• The severity of the spasticity
• The effect spasticity has on your movement and ability to perform daily activities
