Northwestern Medicine offers the most advanced levels of certification for stroke programs. Our goal is to treat patients as quickly as possible to improve their outcome after a stroke, wherever they seek care.

Eight Northwestern Medicine hospitals are accredited by The Joint Commission as providing advanced levels of stroke care, including two Comprehensive Stroke Centers.

Advanced Care and Technology

Northwestern Medicine is home to highly trained physicians, nurses and rehabilitation therapists who specialize in stroke care. We create individualized treatment plans that focus on your needs.

We also offer an expansive telestroke network to provide vascular neurology consultations within seven minutes.

Stroke Rehabilitation

Northwestern Medicine Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital offers a dedicated stroke rehab program to help stroke patients recover from a stroke and return to their normal life as fast as possible. Several types of rehabilitation are available. Your PT and OT will work closely with your physicians to determine what type would benefit you the most.
