Symptoms of Prosthetic Joint Infections

Fever is usually one of the first signs of a prosthetic joint infection. Other symptoms may include:

  • Pain at the incision site
  • Redness and warmth at the incision site
  • Swelling of the joint or limb
  • Drainage from the incision site
  • Pain or stiffness in the joint after a period of it being pain-free
  • Chills or night sweats
  • Fatigue
