Symptoms of Osteomyelitis
Symptoms of osteomyelitis depend on the location and severity of the infection and inflammation. Symptoms can include:
- Tenderness, warmth and pain at the infection site
- Redness and swelling at the infection site
- Fever and chills
- Nausea
- Pus or other drainage from the wound
- Lower back pain or stiffness (if the spine is infected)
- Limping due to pain
- Trouble bearing weight, using an arm or moving joints
