Symptoms of Eosinophilic Esophagitis

Symptoms of eosinophilic esophagitis can vary depending on the severity of the inflammation. Symptoms include:

  • Dysphagia (difficulty swallowing)
  • Chest or upper abdominal pain
  • Food stuck in the esophagus
  • Heartburn that doesn’t respond to medication
  • Regurgitation (the return of partially digested food from the stomach to the mouth)
  • In children, vomiting, poor weight gain or failure to thrive
