Symptoms of Vocal Cord Polyps and Nodules
Hoarseness is often the first and most common symptom of a vocal polyp or nodule. If your hoarseness lasts for longer than two to three weeks, see your physician.
Others symptoms may include:
- A breathy, airy voice
- A scratchy, gravelly or rough voice
- Delayed sound or voice cracking when you begin to speak
- Limited singing range, especially in the higher register
- Extra effort or force needed to speak or sing
- Frequent throat clearing
- Feeling that there’s something stuck in the throat
- Neck pain from ear to ear
