Pathology
Pathology tests happen in a laboratory, but they are an important part of your breast cancer treatment. They help your team learn more about your cancer so they can come up with the best treatment plan. Pathology tests also tell us if the mass in your breast is cancer or not.
You may have a pathology test:
- After a core needle biopsy
- After breast surgery, such as tumor removal or mastectomy
Your breast pathology team may also use advanced technology to analyze your breast tumor more closely. This can help them guide your treatment plan.
