At Northwestern Medicine, sometimes the SAVI SCOUT^® or LOCalizer tag surgical guidance systems are used to pinpoint abnormal areas before surgery. Your radiologist may place a localizing marker, which uses radar technology, on a day prior to your surgery to help the surgeon plan the incision and perform the surgery.
