Our plastic and reconstructive surgeons perform a broad spectrum of procedures designed to improve appearance or correct congenital deformities for women, men and children. Procedures can be performed to enhance appearance on many parts of the body, including:
- Face
- Neck
- Ears
- Breast/chest
- Abdomen
- Hips/thighs
- Skin
Some procedures offered by our plastic and reconstructive surgeons are considered cosmetic, while others are considered reconstructive. In general, cosmetic procedures are those that improve the appearance of normal, healthy structures. Cosmetic procedures may include:
- Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck)
- Rhinoplasty (nose reshaping)
- Breast augmentation
- Botox® injections
Our team also offers Targeted Muscle Reinnervation (TMR) surgery. This is an innovative procedure that can reduce post-amputation nerve pain by reconnecting amputated nerves to nearby nerves and muscle targets. It can also help you manage your prosthetics with natural muscle movement.
Our team can perform TMR at the same time as a planned amputation. We can also do TMR if you’ve had an amputation in the last 10 years.

The Northwestern Medicine Gender Pathways Program is committed to providing gender-affirming care to transgender and gender nonbinary patients.
