When you choose Northwestern Medicine for rehabilitation, you have access to over 40 locations throughout Chicago. Our licensed and experienced therapists treat adults with a range of conditions. We care for those with common to complex illnesses and injuries.
We offer tailored therapy, which begins with a thorough evaluation. We work to help you regain function safely and confidently, promoting independence in everyday activities while improving your quality of life.
Day Rehabilitation
Day rehabilitation therapy offers two or more outpatient therapy services (physical, occupational or speech) with care coordination from a case manager, social worker or nurse. Admission to the program may require a medical record review.
Outpatient Therapy
Outpatient therapy is for patients who require physical, occupational and/or speech therapy under orders from their physician.
We treat the following conditions in day rehabilitation and outpatient therapy:
- Aphasia
- Brain injuries
- Brain tumor and brain cancer
- Concussion
- COVID-19 and post-COVID-19 rehabilitation
- Gait ataxia
- Guillain-Barre syndrome
- LSVT LOUD – speech therapy for Parkinson’s disease
- Multiple sclerosis
- Other neurologic impairments or episodes
- Parkinson’s disease
- Progressive neuromuscular conditions, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), myasthenia gravis, muscular dystrophy and myositis
- Spinal cord injuries
- Stroke
- Vestibular and balance disorders
Specialty Services
Northwestern Medicine Outpatient Neuro-rehabilitation in Crystal Lake also offers driver rehabilitation services. This comprehensive program helps individuals with disabilities learn or relearn how to drive and gain driving independence.
