Message from the CNE

A Message from the Delnor Hospital Chief Nursing Executive

Northwestern Medicine recognizes that nurses are instrumental in creating a safe, compassionate and effective patient experience. The remarkable dedication and professionalism of our nurses has helped Delnor Hospital achieve Magnet® recognition for nursing excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, a designation shared by only a small percentage of hospitals nationwide. We are proud to be among the best.

Our organization’s core values of excellence, integrity, teamwork and always placing patient first provide the platform for providing relationship based care as we meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each patient and his or her family, placing them at the center of everything we do. Every decision we make is based on what is best for our patients.

Our nurses embody this care philosophy through a professional practice environment of research, innovation, evidence-based practice, interprofessional collaboration, shared decision making, professional development, patient advocacy, volunteerism and quality improvement/patient safety initiatives. We believe every nurse is a leader and makes a difference to the lives of our patients and colleagues.

We encourage and support our nurses in pursuing continued education and specialty certification. Our RNs in Search of Excellence (RISE) program offers career advancement to Northwestern Medicine nurses who independently seek opportunities for ongoing professional and academic growth, which ultimately enhances the quality of care that is delivered to our patients.

As a Magnet® designated hospital, we seek to drive innovation and share those innovations and best practices with other nurses and organizations. Our nurses have a tremendous role in caring for the health of our community and in the impending changes to the healthcare landscape. It is certainly an exciting time to be a nurse, and we look forward to helping to enact change. If you are seeking a place where your ideas and expertise can help change the face of patient care, you should talk with us about becoming a Northwestern Medicine nurse. We invite you to learn more about the nursing opportunities at Northwestern Medicine.

Northwestern Medicine sincerely thanks our nurses for the outstanding work that they do every day. It is an honor and a privilege to work among them.

Sincerely,

Gina Reid Tinio, PhD, MS, MPH, NPD-BC
