5.0 star star star star starProfessional and knowledgeable. Made time to explain before, during and after steps to be taken procedure. The after care just as important as procedure itself. Specific rules to follow that almost certainly guarantee a successful surgery.

5.0 star star star star starI expect the surgeon to be at the top of his or her class when it comes to performing any surgery. Knowledgeable about the scheduled procedure is obviously critical. Dr. Ryan meets that expectation.

5.0 star star star star starI would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Ryan. In my first consultation with him, he explained everything in a manner that was easy to understand and even brought in a diagram. He explained how he would execute the surgery and went over the risks. When he stopped in to see me before the surgery, he went over everything again and what to expect afterward. I was 100% at ease. Even the care team commented on how good he is. :)

5.0 star star star star starVery caring and kind. Went through exactly what would happen, risks associated, etc before hand and the morning of. Was very responsive the day after surgery when I called about the medication issue and took care of it right away. Was very sympathetic and comforting to me being in pain.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Ryan was extremely thorough. Even though it was my first appointment with him, he thoroughly reviewed my past test results and we discussed these at my appointment. This led him to consult with another specialist regarding a related issue that I did not come to see Dr. Ryan about. The result was a logical plan for moving forward. Dr. Ryan is caring, highly professional, and takes the time to not only explain things but to answer any questions one may have.

5.0 star star star star starTo say that Dr. Ryan was prepared for my visit would be an understatement. Dr. Ryan not only reviewed current CT scans but went back several years to include those as well as he made his case for the best treatment possible for yours truly. Then he sat down and went scan by scan with his expert opinion and explanations to what the scans meant in terms I could readily understand. Impressive to say the least.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
