5.0 star star star star starI would give her a 20 if I could.. She is kind, compassionate, and is an extremely knowledgeable physician. I am a hospital pharmacist and I am quite familiar with sickness, treatments, and disease. But when it happens to you, it can be overwhelming and confusing. Dr Bellaguarda listened, explained my diagnosis and recommend treatment. There was no rush.. she wanted to make sure I understood everything. Her nurse, [ ], was equally as helpful.. she explained everything and helped get the treatments started and fill out all the forms for insurance coverage... They both are superb.

4.0 star star star star star_borderShe listened to what my experience was with a range of natural remedies I have tried and was not dismissive of them. She clearly explained for me the causes of certain side effects and methods of function of medications. She also talked to me about the current studies going on of potential new treatments on the horizon and didn’t only focus on only the currently approved methods. I had other doctors in the NM network dismiss any natural remedies including any holistic diets, probiotics etc and only push biologics.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Bellaguarda listened well and provided thorough responses to my questions. She determined a path of treatment quickly and seemed to have a few backup plans already developed if the first attempts were unsuccessful in my treatment.

5.0 star star star star starShe was very thorough in her explanations and I liked that I felt she started from the beginning on my history and care even though I was diagnosed and in remission for a long time. I felt like the proper amount of testing is being performed as well. She was apologetic for the wait.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
