Scalp Reduction
Scalp reduction, also known as alopecia reduction, is a surgical technique to treat hair loss by minimizing bald portions of the scalp. Sections of bald scalp are removed and the hair-bearing parts of the scalp are pulled together to fill in the area.
This procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia, often several weeks after surgery to reroute the blood vessels that will be impacted during the procedure.
