A reason for the dislocation of a joint is because the capsule (lining of joint) becomes excessively loose. Therefore, the surgery involves bringing the capsule of the joint closer to the bones of the joint, making the joint tighter and reducing joint volume and looseness.

Rehabilitation

Weight-bearing is restricted and a hip brace is used to limit motion for the first two weeks. Therapy is advised once patient is fully weight-bearing.
