How does the EksoGT™ work?
At Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, you will wear the device while a therapist helps you learn how to balance and shift your weight. Wearing the EksoGT™ helps you practice and relearn how to walk.
What are the benefits of using the EksoGT™?
Training with the EksoGT™ can help you become more independent by:
- Stimulating your brain’s neuroplasticity
- Re-educating your muscles
- Increasing your muscle strength
- Improving your range of motion
- Increasing your blood circulation
The technology may improve walking ability for people living with:
- Spinal cord injury
- Multiple sclerosis
- Stroke
- Brain injury
- Guillain-Barré syndrome
- General lower-extremity weakness or paralysis
Before you use the EksoGT™, a Marianjoy therapist will screen you and consider factors such as your medical status, weight, height and muscle tone. The screening will help them determine if you would benefit from using this device.
