Posterior Tibialis Tendon Insufficiency

The posterior tibialis tendon attaches the calf muscle to the inside bones of the foot. Posterior tibialis tendon insufficiency is also known as posterior tibial tendon dysfunction, or adult-acquired flatfoot. It is the failure of the posterior tibialis tendon as well as the failure of associated ligaments and joints on the inner side of the foot and ankle.
