Northwestern Medicine offers comprehensive physical exams to ensure that your employees can perform their job duties, and follow-up and surveillance exams to ensure they’re staying healthy on the job—helping you avoid injuries and costly downtime.

Physical exams offered in the Academic Medical Center

Our specialists have extensive experience with post-offer physical exams (including job function screens) as well as municipal, state and federally required services including:

• Department of Transportation (DOT) physical: Exam includes medical history, vision acuity, dip stick urinalysis
• Illinois school bus physical: Exam includes medical history, vision acuity, dip stick urinalysis
• Job function screens: Exam determines ability to perform essential job functions
• Non-DOT physical examination: Exam includes medical history, vision acuity, dip stick urinalysis
• Police/Firefighter physical
• Executive physicals

In addition, we manage annual programs to satisfy OSHA requirements for respirator use, exposure to Ethylene Oxide,Tuberculosis (TB) and hearing conservation. Special requirement/procedure services include:

• Audiology hearing screen
• Respirator fit testing
• Review of OSHA respirator form
• Spirometry
• TB test
