Marianjoy Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program
Welcome, and thank you for your interest in our program.
Northwestern Medicine Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital is a unique facility with a distinctive residency program. Since 1994, resident physicians have gained valuable exposure to the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) by learning from experienced faculty members at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital.
Our 36-month residency program offers an excellent balance between inpatient, outpatient, and procedures to provide a comprehensive educational experience. As a fully ACGME-accredited physical medicine and rehabilitation program, we work to ensure our residents will be well prepared to enter clinical practice, pursue a fellowship or begin an academic career at the end of their training.
About Marianjoy's Residency Program
Our free-standing, single-site PM&R residency program with a dedicated programmatic approach to patient care in the following areas of clinical expertise:
- Brain injury
- Stroke
- Pediatrics
- Spinal cord injuries
- Orthopaedics/musculoskeletal
- General rehabilitation
In addition to robust outpatient experiences, residents have dedicated rotations at Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital and Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center.
Our residents get most of their clinical experience at our main campus in Wheaton, Illinois. Marianjoy's campus is nestled among nearly 60 acres of trees, healing gardens and other beautiful natural features. It offers a welcoming atmosphere with many opportunities for building camaraderie amongst fellow residents.
We are committed to promoting resident wellness and an inclusive culture. Our program promotes cultural awareness and communication by creating a safe and trusted environment where residents and faculty are actively engaged and heard in a diverse environment.
This year's residency recruitment season will be virtual. For information about program requirements, interview criteria and deadlines, please visit our FAQ page.
If you have any additional questions, please contact Yana Panos, residency program manager, at yana.spedale@nm.org.
