Northwestern Medicine is committed to providing comprehensive emergency services that address any type of emergency, from chest pain and strokes to serious fractures. The Emergency Department at Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital is designated as a Level II Trauma Center. This hospital is staffed 24 hours a day by physicians who are board certified in emergency medicine and has trauma surgeons available, as well as a specially trained nursing staff certified in trauma nursing, advanced cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support. This medical center offers immediate access to X-ray equipment, CAT scanners, advanced surgical facilities and intensive care units.
